About this event
Morning walk near our beautiful San Francisco Bay
RSVP to Claire Heinzelman : 650- 619-4016 claire.heinzelman@gmail.com
WHEN: Monday, October 2, 10:00 am – 11:00 am
WHERE: Cesar Chavez Park
This former landfill has transformed into a delightful park consisting of 90+ acres including the 1.25 mile long Dorothy Stegmenn Trail (wheelchair accessible) that travels around the park's perimeter. Those wishing can extend the walk by adding another round on the central hills. It features spectacular views of the bay, three bridges (Bay, Golden Gate and Richmond) as well as Angel Island and Alcatraz. Often we see many water birds and almost as many fat ground squirrels.
Where to meet (if necessary): 11 Spinnaker Way, Berkeley. Park at or near the parking circle.
Transportation options if available: Call 2-3 days in advance to see if carpool is available.
How to get there: directions or map (if necessary):
Take University Ave. west across the freeway. At the first Stop sign continue west past the frontage road. Turn RIGHT on Marina Blvd. and Left on Spinnaker Way. Park at or near the parking circle. We will meet at the circle.
Equipment or special clothing, (if necessary):
Layer your clothing as the fog will cool us and the walk and the sun will warm us!
