Emeryville Art Walk

March 26 Emeryville Neighborhood Art Walk.
Starting at the Public Market. Specifically, on the Urban Outfitters south plaza, near the red bicycle and red bench. That is the far south end of the Public Market buildings. Lots of parking in the large parking lot across Shellmound St.
This walk covers the northern half of Emeryville. Coming up on a future date will be Part 2, covering public art in southern Emeryville, including City Hall, and the Artists' Coop.
Here is the listing from the Ashby Village calendar. Based on our last preview I think we'll end at 1pm, but there are many opportunities to turn back early, and there will be places to stop and sit along the way. The art is really remarkable!
What: Explore over two dozen pieces of public art on our 2 mile ramble around northern Emeryville. We'll end with optional lunch at the Public Market (has many ethnic cuisines available) or bring own brown bag lunch.
When: Saturday morning, March 26, 10:30 am - 12:30 am
Where: Emeryville Public Market, on Shellmound St across from the Amtrak station crossing and large parking lot.
Meet: on Urban Outfitters south plaza, by the red bicycle and red bench. Come early and learn about the stone walls and benches and the rain garden here. Our first art stop will be outside the nearby Hyatt Hotel.
Directions: From Hwy 80 take Powell St exit, turn east (towards the hills) on Powell and take first left onto Christie, then first right onto Shellmound Way, then first left onto Shellmound Street. Park in the large parking lot across from the Public Market and Urban Outfitters. Allow a little extra time to navigate if you are unfamiliar with driving in this area.
Weather: Rain cancels but misty or iffy weather is OK
Transit: From Macarthur BART Emery Go Round shuttles run to this location. Take the Shellmound/Powell shuttle and tell the driver you want the Public Market stop. See schedules at: http://www.emerygoround.com/shellmoundpowell.html and scroll down to the Saturday schedule.
