Carpoolers:
Carpoolers meet at Skyline Drive and Shepherd Canyon Road in the Oakland Hills above Montclaire at 9:45,  or at the Seabreeze Cafe at 598 University Ave, Berkeley, CA (west of Hwy &I-80) at about 9:20. From the Seabreeze Cafe it takes about 20+ minutes to get to Skyline/Shepherd Cyn, which is about a 15 minute drive to the staging area.
From the Seabreeze Cafe get on Hwy 80 going west, then switch to 580 going east.
Exit at Park Blvd going east, pass under Hwy 13 and turn left on Mountain, next right on Snake, then straight up Shepherd Canyon Road to the ridge top where it meets Skyline Blvd.  There is a small area for parking here. You can wait for other carpoolers there, or continue over the ridge on Pinehurst Rd., which takes you to the foot of the hills.  Turn left on Canyon and proceed about a mile till you come to Valle Vista Parking lot.  We'll start hiking from there at about 10:15 am.

Below is a map of the area. We will  arrive via Canyon Road (upper left edge of map) and meet at Valle Vista.
