ASHBY VILLAGE MEMBER & VOLUNTEER FORUM

For Ashby Village, 2013 is the "Year of Connection and Engagement".  Please join us at this all Village forum that will allow us to identify our skills and interests and explore how we can vitalize them in our Village.

The Village concept is about support and community, enhancing peace of mind and social capital. It is a communal idea - that a community of people can pool resources by paying membership dues and volunteering their skills and time to support the Village and one another. Our continued success depends on the active participation of engaged and enthusiastic members and volunteers:
CONNECTION + CONTRIBUTION = BELONGING.

Bill and Tari could become quite isolated in their cozy home on their quiet street. But as conveners of the
Thousand Oaks Hamlet Neighborhood Group, they've helped to catalyze new connections and friendships for a great group of people that did not know each other previously. Thanks to their efforts, Ashby Villagers in this neighborhood gather regularly to play games, struggle through computer problems, enjoy afternoon teas and attend Ashby Village events...together.

Along with neighborhood groups, folks have created groups and events that reflect their interests and needs. These examples of community-building are inspiring and vital to the future sustainability of our Village.

The cornerstone of Ashby Village is human connections. When we gather in large or small groups, we are strengthening our foundations. What intrigues and excites you about Ashby Village and its potential? How might you contribute your time and energy?

What kinds of programs would motivate you to get together with other Villagers to learn, to have fun, to meet new people?
  • What are your interests?
  • What are your skills?

Please join us on Sunday, April 7 and help us build this Village! Register HERE,  or call the office.
