The Berkeley YMCA
Accessible by bus, BART, and foot, The Berkeley YMCA  offers a wide range of classes and individual strength training programs. Zumba, Aerobics, Yoga, Pilates, Body Sculpting, and Cycling classes are just a few examples.

A program designed specifically for older adults includes Senior Aerobics, Senior Strength Training, Gentle Yoga, and a medically supervised exercise program for people with a history of heart disease.   Personal strength training programs are also available for an additional fee. 

If you prefer aquatic activities, the "Y" offers Aqua Aerobics, Aqua Tai Chi, Deep and Shallow water fitness classes, and Water Pilates, as well a Water Walking lane and Adult Lap Swimming. 

Drop in on "Tea and Talk" for seniors every Tuesday at 11 AM to discuss Issues of Aging and books of interest to the group.

  • You may now use your "Y" membership at any Northern California YMCA
