Exercise for Strength and Balance

Come and meet Mary in person, ask questions, and thank her for sharing her skills and wisdom with the Ashby Village community. Refreshments will be served after the class.

Exercises to help with strength and balance is important for all of us as we age and lose muscle mass. Keeping strong and maintaining good balance is also one of a number of ways to help in avoiding falls, another challenge for older adults. This class will introduce you to specific exercises that promote strength and good balance. It is suitable for all ages and an excellent introduction to basic strength and mobility exercises.

Instructor: Mary D’Elia, former Executive Director of the Albany YMCA and instructor in senior aerobics and strength training classes. She has been teaching fitness classes and workshops for over 30 years, specializing in working with older adults. She continues to teach Senior Strength and Fitness at the Albany Y and is a certified personal trainer.
