Show Tune Sing-Along with Sara and Kathy, and You!
This is your big chance to revisit some favorite songs from way-back-when. Song-leaders Sara Evinger and Kathy Tobin invite you to join them in singing before socializing. Singing is good for your brain and body health. Come enjoy burning calories. You don't even have to remember all the words, as they'll be provided!
Sara Evinger
For over 40 years, Sara Evinger has served as Music Director, Interim Director and Soprano Soloist at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Oakland.
In 2011, she retired after 31 years as Youth Choir Director.
She has performed as soloist with the San Francisco Bach Choir, Contra Costa Chorale, and the San Mateo County Choral Society. As a member of Operatunity in San Francisco, she sang leading roles in Aaron Copland’s The Tender Land, Amahl and the Night Visitors and Arthur Benjamin’s Prima Donna; and performed with Peninsula Community Theater as Mabel in Pirates of Penzance, and Josephine in HMS Pinafore.
Ms. Evinger earned certificates in piano and solfège at the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris, and holds a BA in Romance Languages and Voice from Indiana University.
Sara came to us from NOV where she led the Singing Group. At Ashby Village, she is involved with the Science and Ideas Group. She knits constantly, on commission and for the Mission for the Homeless.
Kathy Tobin
Kathy loves to sing and is a member of the Berkeley Community Chorus and Orchestra (BCCO). She serves on the AV Events Committee and as a driver.
