EARTHQUAKE PREPAREDNESS

RSVP by emailing or calling the office: 510-204-9200 | info@ashbyvillage.org

WHEN: Thursday, February 22, 2:00 - 3:00 PM

WHERE: Ashby Village office, 1821 Catalina Ave, Berkeley

With the Hayward fault cutting through the City, Berkeley faces a significant earthquake risk.  Earthquakes can't be predicted- that is why it is important for everyone to know the proper steps to being prepared for an earthquake, the actions to take during shaking, and things to look for after the shaking stops.

Jennifer D. Lazo, Emergency Services Coordinator from the Office of Emergency Services of the City of Berkeley, will come to Ashby Village and talk to us about basic preparedness with a focus on earthquakes and home fires. Her presentation is specifically tailored to older adults and includes a discussion of sheltering in place, reunification, making a disaster kit and finding out emergency information.
