Review: ‘The Shape of Water’ Is Altogether Wonderful
This month's Movie Mob will meet at the Cerrito Theater on San Pablo Ave. near Central on Thursday, February 22, for the 3:50 p.m. showing of
The Shape of Water
.
The Shape of Water
is described as "an other worldly fairy tale, set against the backdrop of Cold War era America, circa 1963." Written and directed by Guillermo del Toro, starring Sally Hawkins and Octavia Spencer, it has been nominated for several academy awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actor.
The Cerrito Theater has no parking lot, but I was advised that the street behind the theater has parking with no particular time limit. I was also told that some people park in the Nation's Burgers lot across the street (and that Nation's doesn't seem to mind.) Otherwise, just search around the neighborhoods. Buses stop nearby on Central Ave. Carpooling is advised.
All sorts of food and drink are available to enjoy while watching the movie. And the film offers closed captioning and descriptions. Come early to get those extras.
I hope to see you there!
