WHEN
: Saturday, January 13, at 11:00-1:00pm
WHERE
: Tilden Regional Park, Inspiration Point on Wildcat Canyon Road between Berkeley and Orinda.
Wheelchair accessible
: Yes for motorized wheelchairs
Nature Walk, easy (short) or challenging options.
This is a great walk for possible wet weather, and an even better one if the sun is out and we get gorgeous views of the Bay as well as points east. At 2 miles, we reach Wildcat Peak 200 ft above our starting point, but there are a few ups and downs in-between. Turn-arounds are possible at any point, and you still get the views. Optional Lunch at a local eatery in N Berkeley afterwards
Audre Newman will lead the hike.
Where to meet
:
We will meet at Inspiration Point on Wildcat Canyon Road
Transportation options if available
:
If you need a ride or can give a ride, call or email Audre (510-548-0530, audrenew@gmail.com) a few days in advance for arranging a pick up near your home or at Rockridge BART. PUBLIC TRANSIT: see AC TRANSIT by calling 511, or on the internet at 511.org.
How to get there
: Directions: From North Berkeley take Spruce St to top; cross the intersection with Grizzly Peak Blvd and go directly across to Wildcat Canyon Road. Follow this road about 3 winding miles to Inspiration Point. Parking is available.
What to bring
: Binoculars if you have them, good hiking shoes or boots for the trails, layered clothing for variable weather. Hiking poles are optional, but if you do the long loop, you need to have good balance if you are not using poles.
