WHEN: Saturday, October 21 , 8:30 – 10:30 am

WHERE: Tilden Park Nature Area/Little Farm
(Wheelchair accessible: No)

We'll return to Jewel Lake and the surrounding woodlands to investigate and learn about the changes the summer season brings to the bird populations here. We'll be guided by master birder and Village member Eric Schroeder. Pace is relaxed and distance can be 1-3 mi with several turnback options. Or climb to Wildcat Peak after for enhanced benefit. (RSVP to Celeste for this option.)

Where to meet:
In the parking lot of the Little Farm/Environmental Education Center at the northern end of Tilden Park.

What to bring: Binoculars if you have them, good hiking shoes or boots for the trails, layered clothing plus optional gloves and hat for variable weather.  Hiking poles are optional. I like to use one pole for the uneven trails and keep one hand free for the binoculars. (I'll bring extra poles for loaning.)

How to get there:
Directions:
In Berkeley take Spruce St to top, cross Grizzly Peak Blvd and turn down Canon Drive. At the bottom of Canon Drive, go left into the EEC parking lot.
Transit:
#67 bus departs Shattuck and Center (in front of Bank of America) and stops at the EEC parking lot (on weekends.)
Carpools: Send an email to  the Nature Walks email forum at: walks@ashbyvillage.info) if you need a ride and say from where. Or call Celeste for pickup at North Berkeley BART.
