Nature Walk in Redwood Regional Park

Stream Trail
 Wednesday, November 16
11am to 1pm

This lovely pavement and wide dirt track leads us into lovely redwoods after crossing sunny meadows along side the stream that is the spine to Redwood Regional Park.  Most of the ancient redwoods were harvested in the 1800's but the children of those trees thrive now in this beautiful setting. The trail is easy and straight forward. It runs about 1.5 in so round trip is close to 3 miles. Pavement part of the trail ends about 1.0 miles so wheel chairs might consider turning back at that point.

Transportation options: Carpools can meet at the Rockridge BART station on the east side of College Avenue at the corner of Broadway Terrace. You can arrange carpools if you register for the event on the A.V. calendar.  You will then receive a reminder email which will let you know how to connect drivers with riders.

Where to meet: Canyon Meadow Staging Area off of Redwood Road in Redwood Regional Park.

How to get there: From Rockridge BART, get on Hwy 24 going East. Take the Hwy 13 exit going south, take the Joaquin Miller/Lincoln Ave. exit left (East). Travel 1.8 miles (this will become Skyline Blvd. along the way), Left (East) on Redwood Road and wind East for 2.5 miles, turn left hand into Redwood Regional Park. Follow the park road for 0.5 mile to the Canyon Meadow Staging area at the road's end.

This hike location is not readily accessible by public transportation.

Wear sturdy walking shoes and dress in layers, bring walking poles if you use them, water, sun screen, a hat, rain or wind protection.
