Assistant to Community Engagement Manager

Ashby Village is seeking a volunteer to provide communication and administrative support to its
Community Engagement Manager, Manuela Pegoraro. Under her direction, the assistant would:

  • Develop office systems and perform a range of duties in support of community engagement projects and programs
  • Produce finished documents from templates or verbal instructions
  • Use graphics software to modify flyers and articles


  • Strong writing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Solid computer systems knowledge. Knowledge of PowerPoint, graphics programs and the web is a big PLUS
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision
  • Warmth, humor, enthusiasm, persistence
  • Prefer knowledge of Village’s mission and administrative structure

Time commitment ranges from 4-8 hrs/week. There is telecommuting flexibility, and the position will require in-office time to work directly with the Community Engagement Manager and attend meetings to record minutes. Some meetings may take place in other Berkeley area locations.
