Fall is the perfect time to get out and walk in nature. Find a buddy, start a walking group in your neighborhood or join the Ashby Village "Walkers" for three beautiful hikes in November.
Sequoia/ Bayview/Sunset Trails
Joaquin Miller Park, Oakland

11AM-1PM
This lovely dirt trail winds through redwood, fir and bay forests along a relatively flat trail for 2.5 miles. For more energetic walkers there is a more challenging option. (Not wheelchair accessible.)
Stream Trail
Redwood Regional Park, Oakland

11AM- 1 PM
This is an easy, wheelchair accessible Nature Walk (part paved and part wide, flat dirt track) passing through lovely Redwoods, sunny meadows and along a stream that is the spine to Redwood Regional Park. The trail is close to 3 miles roundtrip. Pavement ends at about 1 mile so wheelchairs might consider turning back at this point.
Meeting Place: Canyon Meadow Staging Area of Redwood Road in Redwood Regional Park.
Dunn Trail
Redwoods, Oaks, and Chaparral
Saturday November 19
2-4:30pm
This beautiful walk starts at the Redwood Bowl Staging Area and heads southeast on the West Ridge trail, passing briefly through the towering redwood forest that the park is famous for.

Jewel Lake Loop Trail
Tilden Park Environmental Center

11AM- 12:30 PM
Wander through a dense riparian zone filled with willow and berry vines that are home to songbirds and creatures of this damp habitat.
Wheelchairs can loop in front of the lake and return by the service road.
Others can climb the hillside east of the lake into a eucalyptus forest.
